क्या Hitwise ने Singapore में plug खींच लिया?
मुझे पता चला कि Hitwise Singapore की साइट Australian data पर redirect हो रही है और उनका local office contact page से गायब है — जो Singapore के लिए free market analytics पर सवाल उठाता है।
यह पोस्ट 2009 में लिखी गई थी। तब से कुछ जानकारी बदल सकती है।
Note: यह post publish करने के बाद, Hitwise ने confirm किया कि वे Singapore में अभी भी service दे रहे हैं। Broken links महज़ कुछ technical issues थे। Hitwise को बताने के लिए शुक्रिया!
आज मैंने Hitwise Singapore check किया और कुछ broken links मिले।
जब मैंने sg.hitwise.com link पर click किया, तो वह broken link निकला।
फिर मैंने home page के ज़रिए page access करने की कोशिश की। Link बदलकर हो गया था: http://sg.hitwise.com/resources/data-center.php
यहाँ कुछ बहुत अजीब लगा — interface बदल गया था। "Top Websites and Search Engine Analysis" पर click करने पर redirect होता है: http://www.hitwise.com.au/datacenter/main/dashboard-1706.html
यही Top Industry Search Terms और दूसरे links के साथ भी हुआ।
तो मेरा सवाल है — Hitwise Singapore का क्या हुआ?
क्या उन्होंने Singapore operation बंद कर दिया? क्योंकि Australian data किसी भी तरह Singapore market के local data से ज़्यादा meaningful नहीं हो सकता।
और Hitwise Office Location के page पर देखा तो — Singapore office वहाँ नहीं था! या था ही नहीं कभी? अब सिर्फ US नंबर दिख रहा है।
अगर यह सच है कि Hitwise अब Singapore market के लिए कोई data नहीं gather/report कर रहा, तो मुझे निजी तौर पर बहुत दुख होगा। क्योंकि अब तक Hitwise ही एकमात्र company थी जो Singapore market के analytics data को publicly और मुफ्त में publish करती थी।
Hitwise के public data के बिना, search engine market share, top industry search terms जैसी जानकारी आसानी से accessible नहीं रहेगी।
