Execution is where AI-native media operations is won or lost: how much work AI can actually take, how production, reporting, and measurement change, what has to be governed, and how to roll it out in 90 days. This guide maps the Execution lane and points to the deeper piece on each question.
AI media planning means the model drafts several structured options against the same brief and budget, and the planner chooses and refines instead of assembling one deck. The part teams under-plan is measurement: if the plan is generated but the measurement design stays the same, you produce more options faster and learn nothing more. Design the two together.
When AI assembles the report — pulling, joining, formatting, narrating — the analyst's value moves from making the chart to reading it. Reporting becomes intelligence rather than assembly. Here is what the machine takes, what stays human, and how to redesign a report so the meeting is spent on interpretation.
Measure decisions changed and cycle time, not output volume. Output is a vanity metric once the model makes it cheap. The signals that matter are how fast work moves, how much review it takes, how often the AI-assisted work is actually better, and what business outcome followed.
AI removes production volume as the constraint in paid media, which moves the bottleneck to concept quality, brand rules, and review. The variant is no longer expensive; the judgement about which variant is worth running is. Teams that win are the ones that built the review standard, not the ones that generated the most assets.
A pilot is a time-boxed test of one workflow with a named owner, a baseline, and a decision rule agreed before it starts. The output is a decision — expand, change, or stop — not a demo. Pilots fail when they are built to impress rather than to decide.
Incrementality measures what would not have happened without the marketing. AI helps design tests, estimate effects from more data, and read who the effect is concentrated in. It does not remove the need for a control. Without a counter- factual, a model just makes a correlation sound causal.
Retail media and clean rooms match first-party data in a privacy-safe environment. AI's job inside them is measurement, matching, and optimisation — not more data. The value is better decisions from data you already have the right to use, and the risk is mistaking access for insight.
