Hi everyone!
Every year around Christmas, this simple post from me about Dale Carnegie’s “The value of a smile at Christmas” starts circulating again and always seems to get a lot of engagement. I don’t know why it’s so popular, but maybe his message is something we all need to hear every now and then.
“The value of a smile at Christmas
It costs nothing, but creates much.
It enriches those who receive, without impoverishing those who give.
It happens in a flash and the memory of it sometimes lasts forever,
None are so rich they can get along without it, and none so poor but are richer for its benefits.
It creates happiness in the home, fosters good will in a business, and is the countersign of friends.
It is rest to the weary, daylight to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad, and Nature’s best antidote for trouble.
Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen, for it is something that is no earthly good to anybody till it is given away.
And if in the last-minute rush of Christmas buying some of our salespeople should be too tired to give you a smile, may we ask you to leave one of yours?
For nobody needs a smile so much as those who have none left to give!”
It is so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the holidays, especially during this unprecedented time. We can often forget the importance of a simple smile and how much it can mean to those around us. While it may not seem like much, a smile can be a powerful gesture that can show someone that we care. It can be particularly meaningful to those who are struggling or feeling alone. As Dale Carnegie reminds us, no matter how rich or poor, a smile can make all the difference this Christmas.

Dude I was looking for this quote for awhile.
I remember it from Dale Carnegie’s book and remember it (despite the hella monotone narrator) striking such a chord. Hadn’t been able to share it for awhile, but so thanks for providing it.
