Knora Privacy Policy

Knora ("Knora", "we", "our") is a voice-only comedy app for adults, developed and operated as a personal, entertainment-only project by an individual. This policy explains what happens with the little information the app touches. The short version: Knora has no account, no profile, and no database of users — and we collect almost nothing about you.

What the app does

Knora plays short comedy bits out loud — entirely by itself, in one or two voices: the teller you pick, plus an optional straight man. You shake your phone and the bit is spoken end to end. There is nothing for you to say or type. It is for entertainment only.

What we collect

Nothing that identifies you. Knora does not ask for your name, email, phone number, or any personal information. There is no sign-up, no account, and no profile.

The app and its supporting service touch only what is technically needed to work:

• Bit requests (network). When you shake, the app requests a bit from a backend service, which writes it (via a large language model API) and synthesizes the spoken audio (via a text-to-speech API). The request carries only what shapes the bit — language, accent, and style — and no personal data about you. A per-install token and rate limits are used only to bound usage of the service — the token is not linked to your identity.
• Anonymous usage guardrails. Transient, in-memory counters are used for rate limiting and abuse control. We do not build profiles from them.

We do not sell, rent, or share your information with anyone, because we effectively don't have any of it.

What we do not collect

• No account, login, or email address.
• No payment information (the app is free).
• No contacts, photos, location, or device-identifying personal data.
• No advertising identifiers used for ad targeting.

Children's content and age

Knora is rated 17+ and is intended for adults. The jokes contain adult, edgy, dark, or suggestive humor. The app is not for children, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children — again, because the app collects no personal information at all.

Knora is a personal, entertainment-only project provided "as-is" and "as-available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, availability, or that jokes will be funny. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of Knora, its jokes, its voices, or its content. You use Knora entirely at your own discretion and risk. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations of liability, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Because Knora collects no personal information, most changes would only clarify how the service works.
